"Tape Piracy... Everyone's Problem" - A Public Collectors Reprint

Recently I purchased an old used copy of Kraftwerk's 1974 album "Autobahn" on the Vertigo label and was amused to find the article below printed on the label-issued inner sleeve. Even for those of us who are old enough to remember 8-track tapes, it's hard to believe that at one point there was a profitable market for bootlegs of 8-tracks, as well as those similarly newfangled audio cassettes. The image of Jerry Lee Lewis destroying a rack of bootleg tapes at a gas station is just too fantastic for words, and should maybe be immortalized one day in a Socialist Realism style narrative painting. Anyway, to help those of you who might be tricked into buying a collectible 8-track that isn't the real deal, the article is reprinted below. You can click on the image to enlarge it.
